Melbourne Rare Book Week
The sixth Melbourne Rare Book Week was officially launched by Cathrine Harboe-Ree, Monash University Librarian, at a gathering at Tonic House, Melbourne, last night.
28 partners are presenting over 60 free events, ranging from silk escape and evasion maps to rare sports books and from illuminated manuscripts to collecting comics. This year there is emphasis on Jane Austen (bicentenary of her death and 200th publication anniversary of Northanger Abbey and Persuasion). The 2017 program also introduces some workshops – with particular emphasis on book-related activities for children. View online program here.
Attached is a list of some of the 2017 event presenters, with contact details.
