The Collins Street
Precinct is proudly associated with Melbourne Citymission (MCM) and in August
2009 we will continue to support their fundraising campaign “buy a brick”.This is an exciting fundraising campaign to raise money for MCM’s
visionary new Youth Precinct, in North Fitzroy. The Youth Precinct will be a new
accommodation, education and training facility for disadvantaged homelessness
young people aged 16-25.
In
June 2008 MCM launched a Buy a Brick campaign to raise money for the
development of the Youth Precinct.Supporters
simply donate $100 and ‘buy a brick’, donations over $500 are permanently
recorded in the Youth Precinct Legacy Book and donations over $1000 are
permanently recognised on the Youth Precinct Honour Board.
To
raise money for the Youth Precinct we are running a special Buy a Brick
campaign in collaboration with the Melbourne Citymission. This special campaign will see your customers buying a brick to build a virtual wall.Virtual walls are planned to be located at
various sites on Collins Street
to track fundraising, build interest and excitement amongst retailers and
shoppers, and attract some PR. The Buy
a Brick campaign will be supported by an extensive communications strategy and
leverage off Melbourne Citymission’s month long Homelessness Campaign in August
2009.
